Worst brazilian economists of the 21th century

1 - Dilma (for thinking what she learned at UNICAMP is economics, for following UNICAMPERS advice about macro policy and delivering a wonderful combination of a 6% s.steady inflation coupled with 2% gdp growth) -- THANKS A LOT

2 - Mantega (for lamenting the only thing he did right in this century, namely, the 2011 tightening of fiscal and monetary policy)

3 - Belluzer (for saying last week yet again that all our suffering comes from 2 decades of appreciated currency)

4 - Antoninho de Botucatu (for having difficulties with chap.6 of Osborne's classic on advanced game theory)

5- Siscú (did i get this right?...for thinking long-term growth is demand driven) (the fifth position was vacant in the first version of this post)

6 - Bacha (once a friend of mine strived to teach him the OLG model in continuous time to no avail; he got all the intuitions wrong; i was eavesdropping their conversation at Garças' house)

7- Holland (for saying that nothing changed in the management of fiscal policy here in Pindorama)

8 - CESG (for not forecasting the exact timing of the jump in USA interest rates some months ago)

9 - Professor M (for dividing matrixes element-by-element in an econometrics lecture)

10 - Jorge Vidor (uses a nice tie)

  6. Missed Nakano on the list, also.

Drop CESG and put the Bresser-Nakano double-headed beast at #8.

  7. Coming to think of it, where's Mr. Delfim Netto? After all, he loves to diss economists in his newspaper column while kissing a lot of government's ass. Guess a brown nose is worth something ...

  8. Where is fernando botelho?

  9. Luciano Escrotinho should top the list. The damage he's done to this country with 'lei de informática' first and with BNDES splashing lately (and creating LCA in between) has no parallel in history.
